A Hole in the Sky is a feature length observational documentary set in Somaliland, an unrecognized, autonomous region of Somalia. The film is a character-driven, anthropological piece, focusing on the struggles of the daily lives of three females shepherdesses of different generations. Some of the themes that will emerge in the film are Women’s Rights, Gender Inequalities, Children’s Rights and FGC (Female Genital Cutting), a practice all girls in Beerato are presently subjected to.
